i dislike the burnaby because the top passenger deck is blocked off and there is that big weird thing behind the wheel house.

So not only can you not go in the thing behind the bridge but the whole upper deck is blocked off!

You can go on the outside part of the upper deck part, but not the lounges up there.

I don't consider New West a Burnaby Class vessel anymore...rather a Super "V" Class vessel. Burnaby because she has nicer interior.

Unfortunately I tore the power cable clean out of my laptop, so the only time I get to upload pics right now is when I'm at my parents house.
If you're referring to the trip I earlier said I would take to Swartz Bay to get shots of the HSQ, I wouldn't hold your breath; I wasn't able to make the trip due to an ongoing situation. However, I will still be uploading a few more pics of the aftermath of the Oak Bay grounding, as well as shots of Tsawwassen terminal's berths one and two under construction, and the Bowen Queen at berth four. Hopefully I'll have time to upload those pics when I goto my parents' place tomorow.
Also, as I mentioned in a different thread, my next upload project will be to scan and post on my webshots site a brochure-style guide to the ferries of the area (Canadian as well as U.S.) (including schedules) from 1995.
As I said, there's an ongoing situation with the family that I'm dealing with right now (in addition to my laptop being on the fritz), so I really can't be sure about when I'll get all of this done.

Yeah but it dosent look like the Alberni's top vehicle deck is higher like the New West to carry more overheights up top!

no they don't carry trucks up above the carry higher clearenced vehicles above so then there is maximum overheight space

The New West's upper car deck can probably take a Minivan carying a car-top carrier.

Good ol' Nanaimo gets my vote because she does the Gulf Islands cruise.
A slow boat to and through Paradise.
