Why not build a bridge to the smaller gulf islands?, for a start, Denmen and Hornby and Quadra island, with the short crossing time of 10 minates and short distance, it might be easier. Why not build a bridge to Langdale then one from Earls Cove to Saltery Bay as an extension on hwy 101. Can't believe I am even saying this, cause I personally dont want to see bridges replacing the ferries. But something like the sunshine coast it would make sense and it's a continuation of the highway up the sunshine coast. I mean of course all the bc ferries routes are a part of the highway system.

Well, building bridges on the minor BC Ferries routes first would make the most sense because those are the routes losing money. The main routes make money for BC Ferries, so it's not a drain on the province in that way. A good case can be made for bridges everywhere I guess. People often forget though that bridges don't last for ever either and they sure cost a lot more than ferries to replace.

Well with building a bridge across Howe Sound is a good idea to get to Langdale. The minor routes would do better without ferries also
