A Milestone hit me earlier. ...Ouch!<--LOL I boarded a Non BC Ferry for the first time EVER. I was hoping to board the Osprey 2000. BUT due to a mix up with the Balfour and Anscomb(Forgot which one was named what) we ended up being the last car on the Balfour (Oooh So Close ) Was a bit upset but was still a okay voyage and I got some pictures as well of both ships. Then I realized at the end which ship the Balfour was. I barely knew it existed which means I better start figuring out how the Inland Ferries work. Still was a nice trip. crowded but nice surprisingly we were at the front of the ship which was sort of surprising we were in the truck so we put up the canopy door and sat there eating Chips. We liked it but It wasn't exactly what I was looking for First Non BC Ferry. M.V. Balfour!??

I last went on that ship in 1995, don't remember it well considering I was only 7 years old.

Your first non-bc ferry eh? Good for you.
The Balfour? Heard of it, too lazy to venture up there though.
I'm about to venture through your photos to take a look.

Where might these photos be, pray tell? I've a soft spot for that ferry, and I'd love to see your shots.

I was on 6 Inland Ferries this trip. I'll start with the Galena Bay Ferry. We arrived about 1:30pm at the Galena Bay Ferry on the Revelstoke side, the next sailing said 2pm but was dangerous cargo sailing but if no cargo was waiting to board they still take passengers and vehicles. But instead we managed to get on a 1:45pm extra sailing of the MV Shelter Bay! The other ship on the route is the MV Galena I think. Really nice cruise across the lake on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we got up and left and took the 9:50am sailing of the Osprey from Balfour to Kootenay Bay. A good time to go in the morning as the ship wasent full up. Then we waited in Kootenay Bay and got some photos from the boat launch near the ferry terminal then we took the 11:30am sailing of the MV Balfour back to Balfour. I must say the Osprey is much better. Even better than our Skeena Queen. The Balfour only has one little lounge on the upper deck on one side. Other areas are just for crew. Very cramped too. On this sailing there was pickup truck that was just squished on and the ropes at the end of the ship went over top the back on the pickup as they just squished it on. But still a neat trip never been on the Balfour before. Then we went back and took the Harrop Ferry. Only 3 cars boarded plus us as foot passengers, a few more on the way back for a total of a 10 min roundtrip which was kinda neat. Also too the Arrow Park ferry that day on the way to the Needles Ferry. Arrow Park ferry going over we were the only ones onboard just as walk ons. I dont think that route gets any walk ons, lol. Another little 10 min roundtrip which was kinda neat little lake cruises. Then we took the Needles ferry across to Needles on our way back to Kelowna. I got lots of photos so I will be posting them when I get the chance!
