www.news1130.com/news/local/article.jsp?content=20071212_024501_4980Late in rush hour last night, a generator on board the Burrard Otter leaked some oil which caused smoke to enter the lounge area as the ferry docked at Waterfront Station. The seabus and terminal were evacuated. The Otter was taken off the route for the evening but is expected back this morning.

Wow, two mini-mod posts, back to back. Well done, gentlemen. You are promoted to the next level....whatever that might be. ps: extra marks go to John H. for the witty thread title. ;D

Sorry, Flugel. Yes, that is the second time I've been reminded not to mini-moderate, and I have to not do that again, or you can make me walk the plank.

I never did trust those SeaBuses.
Imagine... if it were still painted orange, no one would have known it was on fire.... except for the people on board.

Orange is not my favourite colour anytime. I have never liked the colours on the Staten Island Ferries either. I am suspicious they do that to hide rust.

I was on the Seabus when that happened, lots of people were panicing and 1 woman wanted to commit suicide, but when he docked emergency crews cleaned it up and everyone cheered for them although some people bragged that they could have done it

Flugel hron can go straight to hell on the ferry as well as John H. **** you all I'll leave this message quoted above, so that you know what the posters "Costal Fare" & the alter ego "Ferryes" are like. Any further posts of theirs will be deleted, but if you ever wonder why, the above post is typical of the reason.

*** SORRY Michael: Flugel here: I messed up and hit "modify post" instead of "quote" to write my reply. So this post is really Michael's question about how "hron" is, and Flugel's reply. sorry again -------------------------------------------- By the way, who's Flugel Hron? He's a distant relative from Slovakia, who likes to do boating on a certain river in that country. (yes, this is another example of "authentic-sounding satire")
