So much for that "piece of luxury", Harry. I guess they found out it was ACTUALLY a piece of junk...who the hell would use a small, open deck ferry for luxury anyways...Harry: are you stuck in the 1800s?

No kidding. I think that they should put the Nimpkish on the Mill Bay run--and in the summer they should add the Albert J Savoie. The Albert J Savoie and the Nicola I think were built at the same time--the Nimpkish was built later.

Yeah, and run the Mill bay with them until she is retired/sold. I mean, she is only 45 years old! The Langdale Queen is more than 50 years old! And still running. But to get the Nimpkish and AJ in there, they would have to change the docks for the two ships and renovate the Mill bay to the bow and stern size of the Nimpkish and AJ.

Well I might be, but I heard from Bill that she was a pleasure craft, maybe I was told wrong. Anyway, I wonder who will by her now?

Actually, when the docks were rebuilt at Brentwood and mill bay, the angle of the the walls was set wider to allow anything up to Bowen class to dock. This was intended to allow higher capacity emergency service. After a year or two they narrowed the angle, as docking the Mill Bay was difficult otherwise.
The other issue with running other ships on the run is operating cost. Nimpkish et al, Kahlike, Klitsa all draw much more and have much bigger engines. The thrifty Gardiner keeps costs relatively low.

That was 50 years ago, when the Mill Bay was built. And the Langdale Queen is not running, she's sitting under the 2nd Narrows Bridge as a useless scrapped barge. Sorry, I'm only stating the facts.
