I contacted a fellow up in Alaska last night, and he had this to say about the Smokwa:
"The smokwa burned and sank at ther dock in Port Lions decades ago."
Guess that's that.
He went on to say that there ARE pictures around, so I'll start on that.

Well, it really doesn't suprise me. I had kind of figured something like that had happened to that ship. Besides when was it built? 1920s? Plus it was made out of wood, so it was bound to happen.

It was made out of wood eh. Well I thought it was kind of weird to see a metal ship burning.... That explains a lot.
