Does anyone know what winter driving is like on Highway 19 north of Campbell River? Is it more susceptible to snow than anywhere else on the coast?

The area between Sayward & Woss is inland, and has some hills to climb. So this gets the snow and cold. This is where the winter travel advisories occur most often.
I think that the road north of the Nimpkish River is likley ok, as it's close to the ocean, so it should be more mild.
Check DriveBC.com for road conditions.

I drove it around this time of year (that's why my first impression of the road is so bad) and it did snow on the tops of the hills and inland portions.
Sidenote: interestingly enough, there's a gas station at the corner of the highway and road to Sayward.
