I am trying to plan a kayaking trip to the Queen Charlotte Islands and want to spend some time around tasu sound. i have seen a couple maps that showed there is a ferry running from skidegate to sewell inlet, but have not found any info about it.
I would like to know if anyone knows anything about the ferry that supposedly runs from skidegate to sewell inlet, or if anyone would have any other information of getting from skidegate to tasu?

There used to be a water taxi in the 80's connecting the logging camp at Sewell Inlet with the mining town of Tasu... But since the 80's Tasu and Sewell Inlet have both become ghost towns, there is no ferry service. Your best bet is to catch a plane and stay at Tasu Fishing Lodge.

Never has been such a ferry. The only inter island route in the Charlottes is from Skidegate to Alliford Bay. Perhaps you were looking at a very old map with some long defunct steamer routes on it.
Moresby Camp, 25 miles south of Sandspit, is the closest road connection to Gwaii Haanas. Tasu Sound is on the west coast, no road connection.

Perhaps when the mine was operating at Tasu there was some sort of boat servicing the route, similar to the Kitimat - Kemamo service that is run by Alcan. I doubt that there is any such service today.

No, there hasn't been a service for 25 years, lol. There is a plane that flys out to Tasu Sound, since there is a large fishing resort out there, try that.
