Looks as though the Klickitat might have some trouble now. They tied up the Quinault as usual after her last run then exchanged vessels on the 6:45 pm run. The website makes no mention of any problems yet.... Stay tuned....

This change appears to be routine. MV Klickitat likely becomes the No. 2 vessel on the route when additional time is needed for routine maintenance.
It is interesting to note that the 4 Steel Electric vessels are NOT identical sisters. My guess is that MV Klickitat is the regular No. 1 vessel on the Keystone route because she has a higher deck clearance of 13'4" than MV Quinault with 13'2" according to WSF. MV Quinault is, however, equipped with an elevator and MV Klickitat is not. It is also interesting to note that the MV Nisqually, long in layup, is elevator equipped and has a 13'9" clearance. BTW MV Illahee which is normally assigned to the San Juan Islands is elevator equipped, but has a clearance of only 12'.7 according to WSF. This likely is not an issue in the Islands because all of the other vessels have higher clearances.
