Don't be planning anything on the Klickitat just yet:

Any ideas as to how long it will take to complete repairs at the main Port Townsend landing?

Any ideas as to how long it will take to complete repairs at the main Port Townsend landing? A quick Google search came up with nothing, but I did find this: Source: www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_011007WABsnowstorm_wedLJ.272a0696.htmlThe floating dolphin on the north side of the main slip was being moved yesterday afternoon. Couldn't see any obvious signs of damage from the webcam.

Apparently there was some damage to the floater, but I don't know what was the problem. I do believe WSF is trying to phase out the floaters to a certain degree.

I do believe WSF is trying to phase out the floaters to a certain degree. The ones at Tahlequah & Fauntleroy were replaced with steel pipe dolphins in the past few years. I believe the ones at Edmonds have been phased out as well.

We're down to a single floater at Lopez (there were two on the west side), with a new fixed dolphin nearing completion where the inner dolphin used to be (the old wooden floater will be replaced by a new concrete one). A lot of this effort is to get the creosote out of the water. Environmentally sound, yes, but I really do prefer the old timber dolphins that had a bit of give when you misplayed your landing. In addition to being more gentle on the recoil, they also would slow you down. The new ones just kind of ricochet you off and send you in an entirely new direction without really taking much momentum away.

MV Klickitat is out of service today with mechanical problems and the route is shut down. Wonder when annual maintenance will be completed on MV Quinault? MV Nisqually?

Nisqually's out of the equation until such time as the evacuation slides are added, and heaven knows what else. Quinault...
...well, I show her at Eagle Harbor, so she may be available.

Well, it looks as though they have got her doing the final run of the day to Keystone. I hope they don't have anymore trouble because WSF is running out of vessels.

Problems at Pt. Townsend again:
No mention of restrictions like the last time the slip was out of service.
