A passenger, who was upset that the 5:40 PM ferry left just after the bus (which was late) got to the dock, said to the ticket taker (who had just let the walk-ons go onto the 6:00 ferry) that he wasn't going to pay. One of the deckhands followed him up into the passenger cabin and a cop (who was at the dock already and directs traffic at the end of the dock) came up and questioned the passenger (a couple of the ferry crew were there as well). The passenger claimed that he gave his ticket to the bus driver (there are 2 buses that go directly onto the 5:40 ferry, but one got to the dock after the boat started to leave). According to the cop, the bus driver(s) said that the passengers got their tickets back (I'm assuming they were the ones that did ask for their ticket back). The passenger was allowed to stay on, but I don't know if he got fined. 6:00 ferry left 10 - 15 minutes late.

I bet that being on the ferry ride with all of the people who witnessed the situation was a big enough fine for that pereson That passenger would probably be better off hiding in the family restroom for the rest of the night ;D
