Just found this forum tonight, it's awesome to see other people who love the ferries! I thought I'd share my wedding pictures with everyone, since it's fun to show them off. We chose a weekday run, caught an early afternoon boat. We walked on, since the logistics of getting the entire wedding party on in cars was going to be too difficult. And yes, when we got to the other side we still had to walk off for the boat to unload, then turn around and walk back on. No exemptions for newlyweds! (I totally understand why they clear the boat, I'm cool with it) The folks at the main office for WSF were really cool with getting us our permission slip, and the crew on the Walla Walla were a lot of fun. Definitely a fun "Washington" thing to do, I am very proud to have WSF as part of my love story. Walking up the boarding ramp in Edmonds (with a very proud mom): Pictures at: pics.livejournal.com/malytwotails/gallery/00014fw8-GarnetBear (the bride)

Congratulations on your wedding!
The Big W is quite an interesting chosen location for rings to be inserted into each other's finger, to say the least.
May you two have a wonderful life together.
MV WALLA WALLA, you made history once again!! ;D

Congratulations. Married on a Ferry, Never thought it would happen. Now it Has. Weddings and memorial services are actually fairly common on WSF vessels.

Congratulations. Married on a Ferry, Never thought it would happen. Now it Has. Weddings and memorial services are actually fairly common on WSF vessels. When we were originally thinking about a ferry wedding, we talked to the staff on the MV Spokane. Their response? "I don't know why you'd want to, but it's your wedding, not ours! We have funerals all the time on the ferries, heck, you can toss a body off the back of the boat if you'd like." The other crew member who was standing there corrected, "Well, you have to be a few miles off of the shore if you want to dump a body." After a bit of laughter with them, we settled that just because of the unique flavor of people working on WSF, we knew for sure that the ferry was going to be the place for us. I mean, we'd be hard-pressed to find a banquet hall that'd let us lob a corpse out the back door.

You are my hero.
There was a story Jordon pointed me too ina recent edition of BC Ferries' internal newsletter (The Wave) that showed a couple that was recently engaged on one of the Spirits in the lovely Pacific Buffet. The crew was nice enough to include a white table cloth!
