Since it is now official, I can make the announcement!
Sunday, April first, Barnacle and I will be on board for the opening day celebration of the return of the Sidney run. Barnacle will be doing a presentation on the 85 year history of the Anacortes-Sidney run (with a photo display I'm working on right now) and I'll be there to help him out and sign copies of my book which will be available from Olympic Cascade (the galley service.) or bring your own, I'm not picky. ;D
We'd both love to meet some of the folks that post here on the board if you can make it!
(Oh, the boat leaves Anacortes at 7:45 AM and they advise you get there at least a half hour before sailing time. We depart Sidney at 11:40. They do take reservations.)

That would be cool if it wasent such a pain to go to the States. Maybe I might try and get some photos in Sidney or something.

I don't know what (if any) festivities will be happening in Sidney, but the Town Crier usually shows up. Since I won't technically be part of the crew that day, I'll have to clear Customs and Immigration... should I look for the red and black windbreaker outside the fence? ;-)

Well, since you're not coming into the US by air you don't need a passport at this point in time, just photo ID and proof of citizenship.

Ah, good for you guys! Sounds like it would be alot of fun!! I wish I could go, and I'll even be on Vancouver Island this weekend, starting tomorrow, and returning on the 1st. Would make for a very long drive home from Anacortes though.

Too bad they couldn't get rid of all the rust before she heads up there I agree. She's looking a little tatty.

Well, it was a pretty laid back event... EvergreenFleet signed fourteen books and I answered about six questions, mostly concerning the 'where is the loo' and 'why is this boat so cold' variety. (Two lefts; because you're seventy-five.)
If any of the forum members were along, we didn't see you... too bad the connections stink so hard this time of year. Perhaps another gathering!

That is the only disadvantage about having such a large system...it is large. I would have loved to go, but I would have to have been out by 3am or whatever. I was on the CHELAN at Bremerton last night, if that counts. It is good to see the international run back in service for another year.

When will the Summer schedule get posted? Thanks. About a week before it starts on June 24th. I wouldn't hold my breath.
