It just happens that I’m taking my first ride on a WSF next Thursday, and it will be the Keystone run.
I understand the regular ship on this route is one of the Steel Electrics, the M.V. Klickitat.
I’ve herd a lot about the Steel Electric’s and I’m looking forward to a ride on one!
I would appreciate any photo taking spot tips or points of interests aboard anyone could share with me!
Any idea what sailing waits might look like for next Thursday afternoon?

Keystone: I don't know what access to areas near where the entrance is, but that would be a good spot to get a pic of the ferry entering the harbor. The area just east of the holding area is good as well.
Pt. Townsend: The top of cliff overlooking the terminal is a good spot. One point of interest is the old terminal north of the current one. Depending on your camera, you may be able to get a good pic from the ferry.
One thing you need to know about the route is that service disruptions are fairly common due to tides/currents and winds. The WSF service bulleting will mention cancelled sailing due to tides/currents a day or two before.

Don't forget to check out Evergreen's : www.evergreenfleet.comThere is some excellent information on MV Klickitat along with a special article on the Steel Electrics as they begin their 80th year of service.

Er...if you're talking about the little bit I had on the Day Room page that has actually been taken down. As we're nearly to April, I've updated the page for the month of April. ;D

Great Photos!! I am surprised to see the rather good condition of her paint. The paint looks so much better than so many of the newer vessels in the fleet. She looks "great" considering she not been out of service for maintenance in over a year!!

Funny... my first WSF ride was on the Klickity too ;D
Great pics, btw. She looks great for a boat pushing 80 and gone over a year without maintenance.

The only thing I like about the Klickitat is the wheelhouse. That 5 window front looks a heck of a lot better than the 3 window wheelhouse the other 3 SEs recieved. Otherwise, due to Klickitat's depressing cabin, I generally avoid her.

By the way, the Klickitat hasn't "gone without maintenance" for over a year. Remember the crack?
Besides, all WSF vessels get yard time once a year. The Klickitat's gotten hers somewhere along the way, I assure you.
