I was looking at the vessel watch from afar after reading the bulletin that one of the ferries was running late on Sunday -- just wishing that I were close enough to get a picture of them passing in Rich Passage. Sure enough, someone does! Nice pictures!

They did do a lovely job with exterior paint on the Sealth. The green looks a notch brighter than usual, but I suspect that's an after effect of the new paint they're trying. And I forgot to say nice photos!

That is about the best I have seen the Sealth. How's her interior?

Should still be in pretty good shape, providing that the thugs down your way haven't cut it all up and tagged the bathroom beyond all recognition... it was only redone last year. It was lovely when we sent it down; if you could pass the word to the crews down there that we expect it back in the same condition... ;D
And before you bristle at me about the Bremerton riders, I know it's a "one-percenter" thing, but the boats get trashed a lot faster on that run than anywhere else.

I have not been aboard yet. I My schedule has had me on the Walla Walla both ways for the last week or so. WSF has an announcement at Seattle that says the Kaleetan and Sealth will be the vessels at Bremerton for the summer...Any ideas on how the Kaleetan will be freed up if the Elwha doesnt get fixed?

So if that is the rumor, then where is the Kittitas? Could we still have the chance of using the Evergreen as a third vessel during the 3 p.m. hour?

Well according to her IFB listing on the WSF website, she is to be returned to WSF on 6/29. That is assuming of course that her work will be done, maybe someone could verify her progress?
If she does return to service this weekend, that frees-up the Kitsap to return to the Bremerton run to restore capacity by replacing the Sealth.

If so, it would not be long, as the Kitsap will replace the Issaquah at Vashon sometime in July when she goes in for the painting.

The Kittitas won't be back until sometime next month (hopefully before the Tacoma goes out of service). She got into drydock later than scheduled (probably due to the Sealth having rudder problems).

Recently on another post, the late Friday night voyage from Anacortes to Friday Harbor by the inner-island ferry was discussed. Friday nights seemed like a good time for a late night trip. On the new summer schedule, this late trip has been changed to Thursday nights which means that the last trip on Friday nights is at 9PM. The summer midnight trip is limited to S-Mon. Wonder why this change was made?

They have had a Steel doing the late-night run on Thursdays during the Summer Schedule for a while. Just how many years I do not know.

Because if you'll read the schedule carefully, the midnight trip happens at 12:20 AM Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning... or if you look at it from the other angle, just after Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. So the last trip at night on Friday technically is at nine... however, the next one is three hours later, at a bit past midnight Saturday morning. Same as it's been for years. There was no change made other than to move the listing for the midnight sailing to the end of the day rather than the first one of the day (like they tried... last year, was it?) on the schedule.
