When does the WSF Summer Schedule get posted?

When it starts, so people don't start running to the ticket booths, screaming and yelling about "it says right here..."

But what about making reservations for the Sidney run?

Planning a trip to the San Juans on June 25th so wanted to know when the boats leave for Friday Harbor.

You can usually find a summer schedule a couple of weeks early at the terminals; keep an eye on the website. I don't really know for certain when they post the next schedule; I actually give the tongue-in-cheek response that I do because that is the reason we don't post the new schedules in the racks until a couple of days before. (We usually have a case on the boat somewhere, to distribute to those who ask.)

It seems like WSF posts the upcoming schedules 30 days in advance on the website. I might be wrong, but I think that is the general timeframe used.

It'd be nice if they gave it to their employees...

The WSF Summer Schedule starts in late June this year and runs through 29 September. Is September usually a busier month down there than June? Up here (Alaska) June is usually a busy month and traffic seems to drop quite rapidly after Labor Day week end.

I'm not sure why they're running summer schedule until September 29th.

Wonder what additional vessel will be going to the Islands for the summer if the MV Elwha remains out of service?

Wonder what additional vessel will be going to the Islands for the summer if the MV Elwha remains out of service? The Kaleetan is scheduled to come up starting Sunday. I'm assuming either the Tillikum or Klickitat will be back in service in time for the summer schedule (I'm assuming the Rhody won't be back in service until sometime next week at the earliest). Otherwise either someone will be down 1 vessel or the Hiyu (currently the only spare vessel once again) goes back into service.

The Tilly is back at Vashon as of Friday night. Even though she is not currently on the vessel watch, I saw her arrive at Vashon and pull into the tie up slip at around 8:30 pm.
By the way, the Issaquah, Klahowya and the Sealth were all still on the route when the Tilly arrived. My guess is the Sealth will be going.

From the WSF Summer Schedule press release:
The Kitsap is up at Mukilteo/Clinton until early July, so either they got the wrong ferry or the wrong date.

Looks like the Sealth is replacing the Kaleetan. Good thing they will have three Supers in the San Juans this summer. Of course I am saying this as I do a Friday Harbor trip on Monday...lol

I do believe the Rhody's out on sea trials right now and that she will be back on the run late tonight or early tomorrow. Illahee will be making all steam for the islands to relieve the Evergreen.

Sealth now at Colman Dock: And the Kaleetan is at Anacortes (probably in the tip-up slip... she wasn't visible on the webcam):

The Elwha is listed as the #5 boat in the San Juans right now. Pretty funny if you ask me.

Yes, well, you'll notice the Illahee didn't make it to the islands either...

The Kitsap is up at Mukilteo/Clinton until early July, so either they got the wrong ferry or the wrong date. I think that WSF wanted to make it look like the switch concerned only a 24 vehicle difference, as the Kitsap is the normal Issaquah 130 boat that runs at Bremerton. There have been so many switches recently that I would be afraid to say that we have a "normal" vessel in the No. 1 position. So far this year, it has been either the Kitsap, Chelan, Hyak or Kaleetan. WSF probably also figured that it sounded better to say that we are being reduced by 24 spaces instead of saying that we are being reduced by 60 spaces (Kitsap vs Kaleetan). Edit: WSF service notice says the Sealth is a 90 vehicle boat...add insult to injury

It is, assuming that all cars are the standard 18-foot length that they use to figure out vehicle space. A hundred cars is a bit of a boat-stuffer on the Sealth any more since everyone traded in their Honda Civics for SUVs.
