Forgive me, for it has been probably 20 years since I've needed to be in Bremerton for anything other than to catch a ferry. So, is Bremerton still the place with a dying little downtown right next door to a giant strip mall called Silverdale? Did I miss something, or does Bremerton really now have a "burgeoning, bustling downtown area"?
Just checking.
The aside to this is that I spent my teenage years riding my bicycle over from Seattle on weekends and summer days to ride around Bainbridge -- and sometimes up to Kingston or around to Bremerton on the way back. It used to be a rural area then (or, so much more than it is now!) I continue to be shocked every time I drive that way now at what it has all become.

It is not hustle and bustle nor dying anymore. Morseo in the middle of the two. I can give you an after picture soon, just let me find one. But it will only divert about less than 188 cars since it is for autos on the boat only, plus there will be one lane going onto washington avenue. Here is some info for the project and here are some pics of the new Bremerton.

This will be interesting...Starting 7/18, Burwell St will be closed to traffic. It is already bad down there after the 4:20 from Seattle gets in and unloads. I guess we will see how it all plays out.
