I know BC Ferries has been fairly innovative in terms of stretching and lifting their ships. This one looks like it would have been quite the job: www.faktaomfartyg.com/stena_jutlandica_1973.htmSome of those Swedish/Danish ships are amazing in terms of their car capacity. This ship and her later sister (http://www.faktaomfartyg.com/stena_jutlandica_1983.htm) have two car decks, fully capable of overheight vehicles. The later Stena Jutlandica was almost seven metres wider.

I'm not sure, but I think the 2006 sinking of a ferry in the Red Sea was a similar lifted ship.....which had been lifted too much, and had become too top heavy.
That's what the Jutlandica photos reminded me of.
