I was reading in the "Driftwood" paper (Gulf Island) that the Pender Queen (Motor Princess) sunk last week up in the Queen Charlottes, apparantly she was in poor shape, and no-one had done much maintence on her for some time. Another oldie has left us forever

I too read this story in the driftwood. I am too young to have worked aboard her but a few of my co-workers had. It is a sad thought to have lost another piece of history, yet it seems to happen much too often, (such as the Sidney). I do recall when I was an early teenager my friends and I used to board the old pender and explore her when it was moored in steveston awaiting its now final destination. -noleaks

I worked on the Pender 26 years ago lol She was an old girl then. The question is , who got the huge old, woooden ships wheel from the wheel house?
