The Massive Stena line Vessle ms Stena Britannica was Streched just like the B and V class BC Ferries but as you can see from these pictures that Stena Britanica was a massive job to undertake. faktaomfartyg.se/stena_britannica_2003_omb_1.htm

Definatly a giant job to undertake. Especially a ship of that size. Could you imagine if Another BC Ferry was streched? For Example, the S Class could be streched, or the Cumberland Class, or the Skeena Queen. Notice I'm mentioning fairly new vessels.

Thanks to Q of C for posting a very interesting series of pictures. I believe Lloyd Werft are fairly experienced at performing stretches. In the past there were several Norwegian Cruise Lines ships.

The link below takes you to a site that shows some pictures of the Stretching of the NCL Ships. www.cruiseshipodyssey.com/nordreamwind.htmNow I have found out some news about the Norwegian Wind from Faktaomfartyg.se . Apparently in January of 2007 the ship was transfered or sold to Star cruises and is now renamed as Superstar Aquarius.

Norwegian Wind is still sailing with NCL, but will be leaving the fleet this year. It's next operator will be the parent company of NCL, Star Cruises of Malaysia. The Norwegian Crown is also departing and will be going to UK operator Fred Olsen later this year.
Besides the Wind and the Dream that were stretched by Lloyd Werft, they also plugged the Norwegian Majesty, and Pride of Aloha. The Aloha was actually an uncompleted shell when she was stretched.

I wonder how much it's costing, and how quickly they expect to recover it.

Great photos. I have the BC Ferry book by Bannerman that shows the boats up there being stretched. Pretty aggressive idea back in the day. Very cool to see the process. Maybe the WSF Supers could be stretched... Think they handle like canoes now?
