Sydney Ferries Seeks Operations Manager
Sydney Ferries, a state owned corporation, provides passenger services on Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River in Australia. Sydney Ferries carries 14 million passengers including commuters, tourists, as well as providing charter and special event services. The organisation employs a workforce of 600 with an operating budget of $100 million. The organisation is seeking to strengthen its leadership in achieving ongoing reform and building a sustainable future through the appointment of the following role:
GENERAL MANAGER OPERATIONS
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Operations will be responsible for customer service, the provision of reliable, safe and efficient passenger services, and building patronage and revenue from customer service and products. Leading a workforce of over 450 people, this position has a strong change management focus for continual improvement in customer service effectiveness and efficiency. Candidates will need to have strong operations management experience gained at a senior level in maritime, transport, logistics or related industries, with a proven track record of success in improving service and satisfaction levels. A strong skillset around facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution is required, as is a history of improving safety performance and achieving results through people in a complex, unionised and dynamic environment.
