For anyone who is interested in airlines did anyone hear about the accident at MDW last Thursday??? A Southwest 737 was landing in a snowstorm and couldent stop and ended up plowing through the fence at the end of the runway before finally stopping in the middle of an intersection hitting a car and killing a young boy inside. I was watching CNN and they had so much snow there it was crazy that it was hard to keep the runways clear and also MDW has some shorter runways too and the airport is right in a residental area which surrounds the airport. I could imagine what it was like coming in a blizzard. I came back from Edmonton last night on WestJet and coming into Victoria couldent see anything as we were landing in the fog. Kinda neat.

Yeah, I turned on CNN on thursday, and they were covering the crash. I find that I don't like CNN for breaking news coverage, because they get too bogged down in "breaking detail", and so it's difficult to get a factual overview of the story.

It's like opening a volume of a random encyclopaedia book to a random page, and starting to read. You get lots of immediate detail, but no context.

I find it's easier for me to watch something like headline news or CTV Newsnet to get an overall feel of a news story.....and then once I know what's going on, I can dive in to the CNN pit of detail. But to dive into CNN right away is just too confusing for me.

Ultra Walker, which Thrifty's was it??? Well we were away in Edmonton so basically CNN had the most coverage on it. I dont think there was alot on the other local channels there.
