Q-North was scheduled for a positioning cruise from P-Hardy to Tsawwassen on Oct.1st. But I see on the schedule, that Q-North is still replacing QPR on the inside passage run for the first 10 days of October, while the QPR is in for repairs. Does that mean that the Oct.1st positioning cruise was cancelled? Or does that mean that the Q-North had to go all the way back from Tsawassen to P-Hardy this weekend....empty? Please share your speculation or fact. (yes, I know that Harbourlynx could have gone from Tsawwassen to Port Hardy faster....... )

The Queen of the North was on her positioning cruise to Tsawwassen as from what I heard someone who heard her on the scanner said she was on her way down and was scheduled at 6pm on the Saturday from Port Hardy. Which meant she would have to sail back. The Harboulynx would be fast but I wouldent want to spend hours on the Harbourlynx.

why not? it woulda been fun. just imagine all the small isolated places you couda visited on the way through there. i woulda had great fun. but i doubt the HL will ever go there. so i dont need to think about that.

Hey, I was just being cheeky about the harbourlynx comment.....so dont' take that comment seriously. Someone devoid of the satire-gene will probably comment (rightly) that a ship like HarbourLynx would stir up too much wake in narrow passages like Discovery, or Johnstone. Or I could be wrong on this. In any case, my original question: Did Q-North have to travel back up to Port Hardy (empty), to resume it's northern service, after Friday's positioning cruise? just wondering.

just to let you guys know. The MV Harbourlynx only generates a large wake when operating at the speed of 18 - 24 Knots. otherwise it generates a smaller wake than the Quinsam.
