In the past year I have seen BC ferries made fun of in the Editorials. A couple of names I've seen are the Queen of Rust, and The Queen of Jobs. Has anyone else seen ferries with names neant to make fun of BC ferries?

I've heard of old shacky tug boats aimed at the V-Class for all of their vibrations and their age.

Let's not forget the Queen of Red Ink. Raeside and Norris seem to have come up with quite a few in their cartoons over the years.

Reviving an old topic, but here on The Sunshine coast, we like to refer to the Queen of surrey as our 'Little Surrey Girl'.

Does the Queen of Surrey have a "fringe, on top". just wondering??
(with apologies to Shirley Jones and the rest of the cast of "Oklahoma!"). ooooops: I should have saved that comment for a future thread on the references to Ferries in many broadway showtunes. Thanks be to Rogers&Hammerstein.

Fringe? I'm sorry, I know not of what you speak. From what I remember, she's identical to the way the QoCoquitlam used to look before her'refit' (read:raping). Does BCF still plan to equip ships with Marin Ark chutes and systems, even though they are SEVERLY limited in capability?

but they are quicker to launch then the traditional lifeboats, and a passengar can use them (if crew are very busy)

Yes, BC Ferries is going to continue replacing the old davit rafts with the new "Marine Ark" chutes. However, they still have an extra life boat (maybe two) that they can lower with the water with the rescue boat crane.
