Sovereignty over our north, as I'm sure Dane can speak to when he gets back (being involved in our military and recently agreeing in conversation with me on this point), is of key importance to Canada's future, especially with our elephant neighbour to the south compared to us the mouse. I'm sure most of us know the issues, but unfortunately few of us realize just how potentially politically volatile the situation is, especially with the overall - not just localized - melting and eventual clearing of our Northwest Passage to the point of soon being navigable and open to shipping.
