Hi all, I will be leaving home Monday for Ottawa Ontario, have a event to attend to. I just hope the Queen of Alberni will remain on schedual tomorrow as I am counting on her to make my Flight out of YVR. Natually I will be taking my side-kick with me (My camera) and I hope to take lots of pictures starting with the Queen of Alberni. We have a nite time departure out of YVR so I probably won't get any pictures of the plane untill we arrive in Toronto. We have a short lay-over on Tuesday Morning for our connecting flight to Ottawa. Since this is my first time east of Alberta I hope to enjoy the trip. I will be riding on OC Transpo (Ottawa Transit) and plan on getting pictures of the buses and the O-train. We are planning on returning home via Greyhound bus, almost a 4 day ride from Ottawa to Nanaimo. Again taking pictures of buses etc. During the trip if I can get computer access I will update you on how my trip is going on this tread. Untill then, I hope you are enjoying your summer.

AUGUST 6 at 7:15pm
Luckily I checked the Bc Ferries website at 10:00am This morning and found out the Queen of Alberni's sailings are cancelled. My Mom and I rushed down to Duke Point to catch the 12:45pm Queen of New West sailing.
We arrived at Duke Point at Noon and the Queen of Alberni was in dock. I took some pictures of her and then we went to buy our tickets. I purchased a ticket but they cut off the sales right after me Because they have reached maximum passenger capacity for the crew. Luckily they found someone to work to bring the crew licence up.
The Queen of New West arrived at 12:25pm and the Alberni pulled away and waited just off the dock. I have a picture of the Queen of Alberni, Queen of New West and the mv Quinsam in one shot, a very rare picture.
Anyway we departed at 12:55pm and the Queen of Alberni returned to her dock. We arrived at Tsawwassen at 2:55pm and I got to Vancouver Airport at 4:15, Plenty of time to make the 10:55pm flight.
The Ferry was Jamnd pack. I took some pictures of the ship.
I will update when I get a chance

Finally home:
Hi all, I just arrived home about 20 minutes ago. Was on the Queen Of Cowichan's 8:30 am sailing this morning, I just spent 3 and a half days on Greyhound buses travelling from Ottawa to Nanaimo Via Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver, I had no sleep and I am very tired, and will give a detailed report within a few days. It was a awesome Trip!
Karl, You had a tour of Parlement hill too? I did, and Security at the Parlement BLDings are tighter then the Airport.

Yes we had a tour of Parliment Hill last Satuday which was pretty cool. We also saw a bit of the Sound and Light show they have there in the evenings during the summer which was really neat then later the fireworks from afar. I was suprised that the security at Parliment was even more than the airports. My and my friend both beeped when we went through security in the East Block but the Centre Block was fine cause I usually have no trouble at the airports. 3 days on a bus would be long. It was long for me flying back from Ottawa and that was whole day nevermind 3 days on a bus, lol! It was long for me cause I flew back from Ottawa via Toronto Winnipeg and Calgary. Ottawa was too hot for me! Here is a short little clip from the sound and light show And a few videos from my WestJet flights Decending into Calgary Landing in Toronto Decending into Winnipeg

IT sure was hot and muggy when I was there. For the 7 nites we did not need to use the blankets on our beds. Anyway I finally finished uploading my pictures this morning and hear they are. community.webshots.com/user/WESTJET_FLIGHT702It was such a awesome sunrise comming into Toronto. I snapped a couple pictures of Downtown Toronto from the air.

How was your red eye flight??? Was there many people onboard or was the flight empty?? I have always wondered what those late red eye flights are like! I bet it would be neat flying at sunrise. I have never flown at sunrise but on my way to Ottawa we had a nice sunset! Do they still serve drinks and snacks on those late flights??

Would you believe me if I said both flights were completley full? From Vancouver and Toronto. Yes They served Coffee and Drinks on both flights. The only problem with the flight was once we boarded the flight from Vancouver the interior of the aircraft was realy hot for the first half hour or so. About 45 minutes before touch down in Toronto on the left side of the plane was the most awesome sunrise. The only problem was we were on the right side of the aircraft and had to wait untill we changed directions to get a picture. Because of the nite time flight I did not get any pictures of the Take off from Vancouver or most of the flight. The flight attendants were awesome. I spent most of the 3hour and 52 minute flight looking out the window and watching the real time flight on the TV. We were up to over 40, 800 feet and about 600 mph. The flight from Toronto was fast. We were airborn for only about 30 minutes. As soon as the flight attendants served our coffee the captain came over the PA telling us to prepare to Land. OVerall I had the time of my life and will jump at the next opportunity I have to fly.

Karl, what night were you at the sound and light show at the Parliment hill? We were there on the 9pm show on August 13, the evening before we left. My cheap camera did not get any of the show, but I got a few nice pictures of the sunset over Hull Quebec taken from the top of the hill.

I saw the Sound and Light show Aug 11th on the Saturday night. We watched the fireworks too from the back of Parliment Hill which was the reason we went down that night and just happened to see the show going on there which was cool.
When I flew back from Ottawa to Toronto it was a beautiful morning to be flying. It was a 945am flight and we arrived about 45mins later so it was a short flight. It was nice and clear till we got to about Winnipeg then there was lots of clouds! I did a lot of flying that trip which was cool!

One thing I noticed about the Toronto airport is that the Taxi way was realy bumpy. I am not familier with the runways there, but we departed heading right over the City of Toronto.
We had some turbulance en route to Toronto. It was not all that bad, It actually added to the Thrill of the flight. I thought it was realy cool. I love the Take off and Landing the best. I t realy feels neat to feel the force holding you back as you lift off the runway. We had a hard landing at Ottawa and I had a good view of the engine as the airbreaks slowed us.
I had the window seat, about the 5th or 6th row back from the front on the right side. During the flight the main cabin lights were turned off, which added to my viewing pleasure looking out. As we assended out of Vancouver we flew over Richmond and then I could see Tsawwassen ferry Terminal and Roberts Bank in the distance, getting smaller.
Anyway, I may be going hiking on the Cape Scott Trail so If you do not hear from me for a few days, I will be back Sometime next week.
