Today I saw the Bowen Queen on the Texada Island run replacing the N.I.P.(that is probably in its yearly refit). Also the Queen of Chilliwack took over the Tsawwassen on the Saltery Bay Earls Cove run for the Winter season on Friday. Is any ferries at the Deas Dock right now? (just a thought)

I used to see the Mayne Queen tied up at Saltery Bay in the winter (this was in the 1990's). She looked pretty old & tired, and it looked like she was hardly ever used.
What routes does Mayne Queen get used on in the winter these days? Is she primarily a summer ship on Swartz-G.I.?
just wondering. The change in seasons isn't just weather.....it's also the change in ferry deployment. ie "I know its autumn when I see the Chilliwack back at Jervis Inlet. My wife knows its autumn when she sees the leaves change colour."

I think the Quen of Tsawwassen replaces the Queen of Nanaimo when she goes in for refit, on Tsa-SGI route. I think the Mayne Queen is just an extra vessel that sits at deas dick for the winter, but I'm not sure about that.

The Queen of Tsawwassen does replace the Queen of Naniamo on the Tsawwassen to Gulf Islands run. This February she will be back on that run replacing the Nanny! Early this year in January and February the Queen of Tsawwassen was tied up at Ogden Point in Victoria, where I am from as I seen here there during those months, having some work done. Also the Bowen Queen, Capilano and Queen of the North were tied up at Ogden Point throughout the winter months also. Neat to see them in Victoria.
Also the Mayne Queen is the #2 vessel on the Swartz Bay to Southern Gulf Island run, all year round. Up Until about 97 if I am correct I remember seeing the Tachek at Swartz Bay as the #2 vessel on the Gulf Islands run. The Cumberland is the main ship on that run. Anyone know where the Mayne Queen used to operate in during the mid 90's?? I know she was on the Bowen Island run for a while.

Deas Dock, well the Saanich is in refit now, not sure where she is though at Deas or Vancouver cause she aint in Victoria. The Queen of Tsawwassen could be there now, Alberni might be there too. I'm not sure about the Tsawwassen where she is but I know the Saanich and Alberni are in refit now.

I took the bowen queen from tswassen to long harbour with a stop at galiano, it was a long trip on a limited ship but none the less fun. Got to go to the bridge too.

The Capilano runs all year but like every ship she has to have a refit. She was in Victoria at Ogden Point, (Cruise Ship Terminal) in January of this year, as I have photos of her and the Tsawwassen docked there. I dont know if it was her yearly refit or some extra stuff they had to do. Actually that's when she recieved the new colors was at Ogden Point. I seen her there one day and she was half painted which was kind of neat to see. If your on the yahoo ferry club site you can see photos I took of the Capilano and Tsawwassen in Victoria.
