Once and a while, it can be fun to have a look at what BC Ferries videos are posted on youtube. Some people like to take their boat out to go fishing. Some people like to take their boat out to go water skiing. Some people like to drive their boat under a Pacificat in between the Catamaran hull as fast as they can Warning: Explicit Language.

That's just idiotic, But super funny. Those with boats, don't get any ideas now.

The professional boater in me cringes. The thrill seeker in me wants to try it... but with the cat at speed Fenk, conflicted

I felt like ducking at my computer even. At speed oh my. I would imagine the security detail at the shipyard will be paying a lot more attention now since copycats are highly likely. If for some reason the ship rides lower in the water - *bang*.

Wow, that's just plain stupid. If they wanna try that legally, why don't they just buy a catamaran or hydrofoil of their own? Just $50,000 and change.

Have got to love, or have loved I should say, that brief period of invincibility in life, hey? Like how the world was once flat, I'm sure we all had fun while it lasted.

Could that be done with the ferry moving? Or would the wake be coming up under the hull making it too dangerous? If attemptable while the ferry was moving that would be quite the joyride!

Could that be done with the ferry moving? Or would the wake be coming up under the hull making it too dangerous? If attemptable while the ferry was moving that would be quite the joyride! You've got to think it would be possible, because the space between the hulls would still be pretty much clear even when at speed... after all, it is a void space, and that was one of things that was supposed to give them their ability to move fast. In addition, the momentum of the ship might even cause it to rise in the water slightly as the force of moving through the water, and resulting resistance would push back against the hull and cause it to rise upwards slightly. I'm no physicist though... However the amount of turbulence and the constant changing of the distance between the water's surface and the underside of the ship would make it extremely unpredictable how much clearance you would have and what motion either vessel would take at any particular instant.

It would probably be possible to do that if you accelerated with the Ferry, as you were already positioned under it. But keep in mind about the amount of water it would kick out at the stern, otherwise you'd swamp your boat, and yourself. There isn't churning water at the stern, like you would see on the average Ferry. These boats could kick water out as high as the rubbing strake or higher, with those Kamewa Jets.
