Here's my photo link, full size. It's the only Mayne photo that I've got, so quality is irrelevant for this submission of mine, I'm just happy to participate this month. i9.tinypic.com/2ijrmus.jpgphoto credit will go to my spouse for this one

I already like Scott's pic, as it clearly shows the Route-5 quirk of vehicles facing both directions on the car-deck.

I may not have a very good entry, but here it is anyways: (Mayne Queen coming into Village Bay, Mayne Island)

A couple of shots of the Mayne Queen taken during Spring Break 2005. The first one which can not be trimmed to quite the right aspect ratio, is the better of the two.

Another picture of a Powell River class ferry. This one is not in the running as it is not the Mayne Queen, and it will not fit even close to the required aspect ratio. Nevertheless, have a boo at the PRQ in July of 1978, before it was stretched, in its original BCF pastel blue scheme on its original route, Jervis Inlet.

Now that is a nice picture of the PRQ. It's always intresting looking at a pre streched Powell River Class. Cause it's so funny seeing how short the length is from one end of the ship to the Passenger deck structure

For me, Wet-Coast's photo of the shorter PRQ (in this thread, a few posts back) reminds me of a ship of an earlier time, such as the Bainbridge (aka "Jervis Queen").
I know the Bainbridge had 2 wheelhouses etc, but I guess it's the look of the superstructure over the car deck, so close to each end of the deck......that's what looks familiar to me.
Anyone else see that in this photo?

I sure do notice. It does look alot like the Bainbridge (AKA Jervis Queen).

That's a cool pic of the PRQ. Tough to imagine it looking so squat like that.
Any photo of the Mayne or Bowen Queens from dead on the side is great. Those boats have a very nice profile.

Forgot I had this pic of the Mayne Queen - I don't have that many. BTW... for this thread, you are allowed to post a photo up to 990 pixels wide since that's what we need for the header pic.

I guess that I should enter something into this. The Mayne Queen is one of the 'Minor' vessels of the Southern Coast that I haven't had as many opportunities to photograph, and my entry was actually shot yesterday; Galiano Island at left and the Strait of Georgia in the background (this image, of course, can be re-sized/shaped to fit properly, but you get the idea).

Either Scott's, Graham's, or John's or Maybe one of JST's or Chris' get my vote when the polls open. which shouldn't be too long.

Ugh, I hate competition. Espescially when your competetors are better then you. And, your friend, who lives 17 miles across Georgia Strait, who you met by fluke at a Dutch Cafe, who I mistook for someone else, is voting against you. J/k Curtis, vote for whoever you like

Competition, good for consumerism. bad almost anytime else.
I'm rather more envious than disappointed but what can I say, I tried, I failed, I start over. Graham, I believe that if a position for photographer at BCFS is open, better snag it.

Graham, I believe that if a position for photographer at BCFS is open, better snag it. Yes, because their current photographer is responsible for finding pre 2002 photos in the back of their closet. Better let Mr. Hahn know that you might be able to get some good shots for their next annual report.
