Is it just me, or are the bows of the '81 C-class (Oak bay and Surrey) more pointed and narrower than the Coquitlam and Cowichan?

Is it just me, or are the bows of the '81 C-class (Oak bay and Surrey) more pointed and narrower than the Coquitlam and Cowichan? They actually most likely do. The Surrey and the Oak Bay were built with modifications to their design based on experience from the first two C-class. One reason for the change was so that the bridge at each end was not set so far back, giving better visibility over the bow.

I like the Cowichan and Coquitlam better than the Surrey and Oak Bay. I think they look better! I like the design more for the 76's than the 81's.

I don't think that the bows are any narrower on the Surrey/Oak Bay. All they did was pull the superstructure forward to allow more room in the passenger cabin and better sight lines from the bridge. Changing the car deck would be a considerably bigger job and not get much from it, in my opinion.
Cheers,
