I own an iPod Touch (iPhone equivalent, minus the phone) and I've been becoming more and more aware of the types and kinds of Mobile Services BC Ferries offers Blackberry and iPhone users. - BC Ferries Webcams: For $2 from the iPhone/iPod Application Store, you can purchase this app that displays webcams in both detailed, and summarized forms for major routes at major terminals.
- Blackberry/Mobile Website: This is offered through the BC Ferries website and allows the user to view Service Notices and Schedules in a very plain, obvious form on their mobile device.
There's a huge market for this, and I've witnessed such a development with a Translink application that allows the beholder to view transit schedules, itineraries and Next Bus information on the fly. What I would like to see is BC Ferries becoming a more integral part in mobile operations, like the iPhone Application Store, and develop applications that would make it easier for frequent ferry users like us browse and view current terminal conditions, schedules and important information.
