Does anyone have any stories about ferry strikes in past years. I was on the nanny and we waited 1 hour on the ferry with car ramp and passenger ramp up without leaving, then my mother complained about getting sick and tired of waiting and we left within the next five minutes.

I remember the one a few years ago in 1998 or something, and it was in December too, and there was no food service and the gift shop was closed. I remember having to have a big dinner of pop and chips on Queen of Alberni when that happened

Ya, there was a big one in the '70's when BC Ferries was turned into a Crown corporation.

Yeah I remember that one in 98. All employees at Tsawwassen walked off the job as they were upset about a non unionized member working in the Gift Shop onboard the SOBC, or something along the lines of that as I still to this day have a bunch of news clips I recorded of that strike.

I remember skiing on Grouse Mountain a year ago and talking with some people from Gibsons or Sechelt on the Chairlift, they said that their skiing plans had been changed due the Strike of 2003. Thankfully it was in the winter when traffic levels were low and when I usually don't go on ferries because I have no need to.
