July 2010: from Horseshoe Bay village

As each month passes, the obvious flagship themes are used. And so sometimes we can revert to old favourite themes (ie C-Class), and other times we can reach into something more obscure.

The July 2010 theme is a bit more obscure, only in that it's very specific:

- Photos of a ferry(ies), where the photo is taken from Horseshoe Bay village.

- ie. photo from the park across from Trolls, photo from the HSB village dock, photo from the street-corner, etc.

But not photos from inside BCF property. And not photos from above on the hills, looking down on the bay.

OK, so that sounds narrow and specific. However, that narrow & specific area is one of the most easily accessible spots for a ferry fan in our corner of the world. I'm sure that most of us already have many banner-worthy photos from HSB village.


Here's the legal stuff:
- limit 3 nominations per person.
- nominations close at 9:00pm PDT on June 28th.

Ah, what the heck, I'll submit a couple of pics this time. I had to dig real deep to find these ones, and despite all of the computer crashes and external hard drive issues, I managed to find a couple of nominations that were still saved on old SD cards. So here they are.

You're way to high up to be on the floating dock. The only logical place you could be is the seawall walkway, but it looks like you're too close to the ferry for that. So unless you're 8 feet tall...

So, if you see the title of this thread if it appears in the 'last post' column on the forum main page, it clearly says: "July 2010: from Horses" So, that means all submissions must have been taken while on horseback to be eligible. ;D

Don't wait for me to submit something. I have never been into HSB Village and hence have never taken photos from there*. As far as I can tell my brother, Mr. DOT, has never taken photos from there either. I am content with the idea that someone else's photo will grace the top of WCFF pages in July.

I do like this concept though, and thank your Mr. Fluge for coming up with it. In future we could have other months just for photos take from the shore in ferry photogenic locations such as Active Pass.

* I was musing about hopping on a plane to Vancouver and making my way out to HSB Village so I could spend a day clicking away ;D.
