They'll be down a boat for that time though, there will be no 'Lady Swift' serving as relief as she has been returned to the shipyard, as the vessel was not outfitted properly.

True but I don’t see Lady Swift staying there for over six months. But Kitsap Fast Ferry could keep temporarily schedule until she returns and do full two boat service then. Also this trail to see if two boats don’t do as much damage to shore line.

I am fully aware of the purpose of the trial, but it is very possible that it could be interrupted and be postponed due to ongoing electric issues with the Reliance that have been troubleshooted and fixed for now.

I wasn’t aware of that problem so that could cause a major issue. Do you what type of electric issue that Reliance is having?

The vessel was out for a few weeks as a result of electrical troubleshooting, but not the specific nature of the problem. Seemed to be running fine last week though.

A Kenmore to South Lake Union route has potential; not so sure about Ballard to downtown. It seems like that is better served by overland options such as bus rapid transit like they have now (Rapid Ride D-Line) , or possibly light rail in the future. Those options are certainly more direct.

Enetai Ferry by Jay Cassady, on Flickr The Enetai, Kitsap Transit's newest Fast Ferry is nearly complete! Here she is today at the Langley Pier waiting final outfitting at Nichols Brothers on Whidbey Island and eventual delivery to Kitsap Transit hopefully later on in 2020.
