Has anyone experienced a trip when they slow down the ferry half way through the trip to a speed to where the ferry is almost stopped. Well I have, and it was last summer on Oak Bay when she was doing the extra sailings on DP-HSB, and they decided to slow right down to the point where I could walk faster than the ferry. We went that fast when we were parallel to Snug Cove on Bowen Island until we were just past the point at the end of Bowen Island out in the Strait. Thats the third time I've seen that happen when I've gone on her. Always in the same place, in each direction, but they never slow down on Cow or Coq though. But there was another time on Queen of Vancouver going through Active Pass and we stopped once we got though the Pass and into another channel, I don't know what it's called, but I think that time was because of Another Ferry trying to get through or something

Why does it seem like I'm an Idol to people? First I get Ski Wee kids at Grouse worshipping me yesterday, and now this, someone using a similar topic to what I started last night, except this one is about slow trips.
Anywho, I have been on the Slurry when they've slowed down because they were passing a thing of logs being pulled by a tug.

Only trips I have been on where they have slowed down has been through active pass. Once coming from Tsawwassen on the SOVI we slowed right down, almost stopped a ways out from active pass as there was some whales on the starboard side they slowed down to watch them.

ive been on the HL when the ship had to come to a complete stop, from sucking a log, or from a generator failure.
