I think the Queen of the North is at Deas right now. That was the last I heard.

How many decks are on the Queen of the North, and what decks are used for what?

I'll mess this up a bit, but here goes:
#1 - engine room deck?
#2 - "T'ween deck", whatever that means
#3 - main vehicle deck. 3 watertight partitions run from side to side, but they are only 2 metres high. Purpose is too keep any sea water from sloshing all around and making the ship unstable (like on the Herald of Free Enterprise). Vehicle deck is sybol coded so that you remember which section your vehicle is on (since the watertight doors turn this into 3 sections that are separated). I think it's sand-dollar, dolphin, and some other sea creature as the symbols.
#4 - platform vehicle deck (probably just a side platform....we didn't use it)
#5 - Saloon deck: buffet at bow, cafeteria at stern, pursars office in middle port, and galley in middle starboard. Outside stern deck isn't too good for sitting.
#6 - lounge deck: Prince of Wales lounge at bow (lots of seats & games-tables), $15 North-Star lounge on starboard side (I won't make that mistake again....not good value), arcade on port side, cabins at stern. Outside stern deck is pretty awesome for sitting.
#7 - cabins, cabins, cabins. Outside stern deck is the best spot to sit all day long....on a warm summer's day.
#8 - officer's cabins & bridge. This is the narrow, top deck.
- I travelled the Q-North last August, and I got the tour from a friend who is an engineer officer on board. Very interesting ship. Bring your German-English dictionary, so that you can talk with your fellow passengers....

I guess lots of germans travell on this trip. I would like to travell on the Queen of The North, but I don't have the money.
