We never received a full-size link for item #17 (QPR)
- I didn't think this item was intended for the ballot.

:)in perusing these belly of the beast items, the one that stands out to mrdot. is the old san mateao, and it breaks my heart to see her remains up river from us here in Tsawwassen! In my cpr collection is a old shot of the original car deck of the trendsetting motor princess of 1923 that would have fit well in this display! :'(mrdot.

My thoughts: If Retro-Vision logs-on and sees this issue by October 10th or so, and assuming that this banner of his is one of the top vote-getters, then if he sends us the full size link, we'd probably be able to add it to the banner rotation. - if not by October 10th or so, then it's too late to be part of the banner rotation. ...and that's bending the rules already, so we're not setting a precedent for other similar circumstances of incomplete submissions.

The poll is now locked. Thanks to everyone who voted. Here is how we are going to do this. Just like we did in August, we are going to pick the top nominations and they will rotate through like you've seen for the last couple of months.
Anyone who had 5 votes or more for their entry is a winner this month so that leaves us with 5 winners in October.
#8 - Queen of Alberni #9 - Skeena Queen #11 - San Mateo #17 - Queen of Prince Rupert #22 - Quinault

If the submitter of photo #17 hasn't provided his full sized version yet, I have done it for him and brought it to the 960 x 240 restraint (I guess for the last time on this Forum as we are slated for a size upgrade next time around). Here's his submission as edited courteously by yours truly: i139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/ferrynutseattle/ferrynutseattle2/qoprwcff1a.jpg

It seems fairly blurry. I think if we get Graham to post his original, it would be much clearer.

It seems fairly blurry. I think if we get Graham to post his original, it would be much clearer. It all depends on when he decides to log-in again. It might be soon or it might be a while... - Hopefully he knows how much we appreciate his fine photography. He's got a lot of talent and I really enjoy viewing his work. Plus he does a great job of explaining the ships that he's photographed. I've learned a lot about the tugboat industry from his posts.

:)yes, of all the modern era vessels of the belly of the beast, I think the QPR cardeck submission of Graham's was the one that I would have chosen and perhaps he can submit a clearer version! mrdot

Sorry, I'd been busy and AFK in the last days of the contest. Frankly I hadn't originally intended to submit this banner, but would have done so if I had been around. Here's a link to the original, which has now been sent to staff... img202.imageshack.us/img202/5262/qoprwcff1.jpg

:)may I congragulate you for inserting the upgraded image of the QPR cardeck, perhaps one of the few views that focus on the real belly of the beast in this new banner selection. I think the next series will be great, featuring our guideing lites and some of the many coastal vessels! :)mrdot.
