What if BCF decided to make a advertisement comercial it would be an idea eh.. eh! Okay this topic is basicly new ways of customer service like if you're not in the mood for food you could look at somthing else such as a mini aquarium or movies that take as long as the trip or even making a remote control ferry thingamabob or an advance children play area that could keep them from wreking havoc all over the ship (when I say that I meen the inside) so Service Ideas on the ship and at the terminal thats what this is all about.

the only problem. that people would get drunk, and then try to drive off the ship :S

Thats the problem it would only be open 35 minutes if they did cause you do have to wait an hour to get sober again

the hour to sober up is a myth. people are already drinking onboard the ships. i just think that the company should make some money off it. then my buddies in delta can just sit at the end of the causeway all shift and write tickets.

that would be funny, you get a beer, and a 1 use breath test. Be perfect.

I'd like to see a reservation-based overnight trip between Duke Point and Tsawwassen and return.
Another thing while I'm at it. I'm upset that the Bread Garden stopped stocking the ferries with the smoked salmon on ciabatta sandwiches. Those things were very good. I usually bought one for the trip and another one for lunch the next day.
Small idea #2. Put newspaper boxes on some of the smaller ferries. It's impossible to get a Province on Quadra Island before 9:30, but grabbing a paper on the 8:00 ferry would be very nice.
On the beer on the ferries: I don't think they'd ever sell any alcohol on any route not on the inside passage and to the Charlottes. The increase in insurance would be huge and the potentially bad publicity wouldn't be worth it to them.
Or how about some of those pay-binoculars on the sundeck that are on the top of skyscrapers and other scenic vistas?
I have a million ideas, I'll think of more and throw them here.

How about they get some Villages Pizza on the Duke Point and Victoria Ferries, not just at the terminals also on the ships. Maybe the SOBC when she comes back will have all the amenities the Naniamo ferries have, bread garden, which they do sell on the Victoria ferries, but also Villages Pizza. What do you mean an overnight reservation trip??? Sailings all night by reservations?? It's impossible to keep the Duke Point ferries running all night on the current half hour turnaround because of the schedules, last sailing is at 10:45 now which arrives at 12:45am, then if you had a 1:15 am trip arriving at 3:15, departing at even 3:30am, only a 15 or 10 min turnaround wouldent get in till 5:30am and the first sailing now goes at 5:15am. But probably not much traffic during the night so you could probably only have 10 min turnarounds, lets see, 12:55am, 2:55 arrival, 3:05 departure 5:05 arrival, actually that would work then 5:15 with half hour turnarounds as normal.

I was thinking of a single round trip some time overnight. They would know how many people to staff ahead of time because of the reservation system. I'm sure a lot of trucks would use it and it would be useful for other people who need to hit the road early (or late).

Yeah, that is all you could fit in that time slot would be one rount trip after the last arrival now and the first departure you could only fit in one rountrip, unless you used another ship besides the Alberni and New West. Would it be two ship schedule or just have one ship as I dont think you would need two.

Thats the problem it would only be open 35 minutes if they did cause you do have to wait an hour to get sober again It takes way more than an hour to become sober again, I'd say a good 5 hours or even more depending on how drunk you got, and then there's the hangover, which can last a day, or 2, depending on how drunk you were.

The general rule is it takes the liver an hour to process one drink worth of alcohol.
