So, if BC Ferries upped their fares, why is there still a fuel surcharge???

So, if BC Ferries upped their fares, why is there still a fuel surcharge??? Because of the regulatory environment concerning how the fares are set and increased. The fare amount increase has a limit, but a surcharge can be added for certain things. That regulatory environment stems from the "Coastal Ferry Act" of April 2003 (and now I hear the voice of "Cascade" imploring Dane to "read the act....")

These new webcams are useless. On all the terminals I have checked so far, the cams are pointed the opposite direction of the berths!

These new webcams are useless. On all the terminals I have checked so far, the cams are pointed the opposite direction of the berths! The point of the webcams is to show the staging area, to provide a real-time indication of traffic conditions at the terminal. They are not meant to show vessel positions- that's the purpose of the AIS Tracker. Staging area webcams have existed for a long time in Washington State- I've found them to be an excellent tool. Most of the new BCF webcams that I have checked seem very well-positioned to provide an accurate real-time picture of traffic conditions.

Couldn't they have done it like the Fulford Live Cam, showing both the berths and the vehicle area?
