Looks great Curtis! Thanks for all of your hard work! The Chilliwack has the same themed signs in the passenger deck, that the Cowichan had after the first Mid Life it looks like. Also, it's neat how they kept the original "Basto I" bell aboard, and just put "ex" above the name. Heh, I guess driving around on the car deck would put your cars suspension to the test

That should be a good experence. We'll get to see the gift shop in use and many other things we don't see on the Saltery Bay route. How many ships have you been on in the current fleet Karl? Cause it looks like you've been on nearly all of them

Heh, I guess driving around on the car deck would put your cars suspension to the test Thanks, Yeah I saw one of those big trucks bounce on the car deck I wonder why the pot-holes are there. Oh my goodness gracious, that is more than all of our photos combined in comparsion to your album. Talk about a collection. I know I've taken alot of pics in only 1 1/2 years. P.S. I figured out how they load via the 2nd berth at Saltery Bay they turn around then turn around in the road that goes to the berth

Yeah the car deck looks pretty rough to me! I guess I will find out this summer when we go. I have been on all the major ferries except the Queen of Chilliwack which is why I would like to do the Discovery Coast Passage. As far as minor ferries the only ones I havent been on are the Tachek, QQ2, Kwuna, Nicola, Nimpkish! Been on every other ferry!

Great Pics Mr. S, such a great variety, with some real quality-pics, I wish, for your own sake, that you eventually get them onto a site that really shows the pics off in a way that they deserve... 1/3rd of the original (or less) doesn't give all of your great pics justice; until then, though, I'm thankful that you (and others) post your pics at all. Thanks. Cheers, Graham P.S. Any idea why they were flying the U.S. Flag in this shot of the NIP?: ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/prqueenkid16/detail?.dir=65f3&.dnm=c611.jpg&.src=phMaybe Hahn was aboard

I wonder which ferry that engine is from? Those two MIRRLEES engines in the sheds at Deas are the New West's orginal 6,000 horsepower engines. She currently runs the four WARTSILA engines that were installed at the time she was lifted.

And Of Course Last But Not Least My Most Recently Rode Ferry The Queen of Chilliwack[] Hi Curtis, I liked the photos you took on the Chilliwack (especially the funnel with the horn). Sad to see very little of the engine room, though She uses four BERGEN's for the main engines (5,880 hpwr) and four VOLVO PENTA's for auxiliary generators. They need all four main engines running to keep the schedule (Ha!) on Route 7. On the Discovery Coast, they only use two engines. Apparently, the ride upstairs is more enjoyable and there's no rattling and shaking!! All the crews on Route 7 are just awesome! Very friendly and understanding. I spent alot of time up your way a few years ago and I really enjoyed the Jervis Inlet cruise. Excellent photos. Alan

...And finally, for tonight atleast, my shots of the Queen of Surrey and Queen of Coquitlam. It was odd seeing the one of the two vessels that is only out for a short-while up in dry dock, and the one that's undergoing a multi-month, mid-life upgrade, in the water, seemingly only needing a paint job... and an interior.
