Wow, great pics Soundy! Might I ask, are those pictures of the Capilano taken on that snowy day back in April?

The top two were late November last year (I can look up the exact date, if you want).
Lower ones were last month.
The bell there, I'm not sure offhand when I shot that. I can find that one too, if I dig up the original file.

Those photos are actually quite artistic Soundy. We don't always think of our ferry photos as being art, but you pulled off some unique combinations of light and textures, and even the faces of the people riding the ferries.

You should consider using the first one as a forum flag ship ballot. and very nice pictures It would be nice except that the snow will probably get cut off when it gets cropped. Nice photos soundy! I like the one of the Mayne Queen, it has cool lighting.

what kind of settings and lenses do you use for these photos? Camera is a Canon EOS 40D. Top set (down to the cone) are all with the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6. Lower set are using the EF 50mm f/1.8. Most are at ISO 100, aperture priority... a few are using auto-DOF. Most of the 50mm ones are also using manual focus. If you want to know the exact settings for any of them, I can look it up in the EXIF... these are all linked from my Facebook profile, and the EXIF gets stripped on upload.
