Where is this and what are we looking at? I'd say that we are looking at a close-up of your current signature pic.

Haha nope, but it could be that. What I mean is what is that thing separating the 12's and 11's etc...

It belongs to the same ship that is in my signature pic.

That's an easy one. It's the North Island Princess.

That's an easy one. It's the North Island Princess. Right you are. I haven't ridden on the NIP, so it took a few minutes to piece it together.

I have two. 1. Give ferries and tug names: That tug is the Western Navigator, or one of her sisters.

I am not sure of the name of the tug, but I'll guess the two ferries in the photo as the Wenatchee and Sealth...?

I am not sure of the name of the tug, but I'll guess the two ferries in the photo as the Wenatchee and Sealth...? Might be the WESTRAC II. She and the WESTRAC have done a lot of movements for the KDT building program. We'll see if they'll do the same for the Olympic (Mountains) Class ferries. The small passenger ship should be the LADY OF THE LAKE II on Lake Chelan.

Going by the size of the white spot on the bulwark, the Jumbo Mark II vessel is probably the M/V Tacoma. The other ferry is most likely the M/V Kitsap (I ruled out the M/V Sealth due to lack of visible car deck windows).

SS San Mateo gets the two ferries and Ferrynut gets the tug (Westrac II) and the Lady of the Lake II on lake Chelan. But the's still that other boat next to the Lady II.

From this one: 1. Narrow down the number of possible ferries to 2. 2. Tell me where I took the picture:

1) Kennewick2) Fort Ebey State Park, Whidbey Island 1. yes, one of them 2. wrong Is there just one ferry in that picture or two? The other ferry it could possibly be is the Salish. As for the location, my guess would be the the bluff near Ebey's Landing (3 miles SE of Fort Ebey State Park). If that's not right then my second guess would be that you took it at Fort Casey State Park or Camp Casey.

Regarding the Mr. DOT photo below (which is fresh off my scanner) ... I would like members, younger ones to start with (say, under age 30), to tell me where this is, what vessels are pictured, and give me an approximate date. I expect some will figure this out pretty quick. Those over 30 can chime in starting tomorrow morning (Feb 23rd), if I don't yet have answers to all questions. Sorry about the picture quality. My brother was using a Kodak 'Instamatic' back then.

I know the answers, but I think I'll let others figure this out.
