I think I've solved this puzzle. I'll admit this one had me thinking for quite awhile, the location looked quite familiar to me but for awhile I couldn't put my finger on where it was on the coast. (Sannich Inlet? Northern Gulf Islands?) Then it hit me, what if this isn't on the coast? So I looked to the lakes where only a small number of Inland Ferries have an overhead view of the car deck like this one. Looking closely at the car deck you also see that the car deck is riveted, not welded so this would be a vessel built before the 1950s I imagine. With these findings I have my final answer. Is this Kootenay Lake, aboard the MV Anscomb?

Is this Kootenay Lake, aboard the MV Anscomb? Nice work, Curtis, and you did not even use the clues that I left in my text: 1 - BC ferry as opposed to BC Ferry 2 - "people to dive into". I chose that word 'dive' for a reason. I was returning from a ski trip to Panorama Resort near Invermere and was taking the scenic route home. In which direction was I traveling?

You are traveling westward, to Balfour. - the low lands at the entrance to the west-arm of Kootenay Lake are my clue for direction.

Quick IDing of the Seabus vessels here, from the Harbour Centre on Tuesday. Can anyone guess how many there are in this photo? Count the Seabuses by Howe Sound Ferries, on Flickr This is my last SeaBus post for today!

Time for another edition of just where exactly will you find this ferry, the Spirit of Plastic, 'sailing'? Hint, this is an 'inland' ferry (very inland).

Is that the Coastal Inflation at the Mount Robson Visitor Center, right at the base of the trail to Berg Lake...? (home-field advantage on this one, sorry)

Do you think this more closely resembles a Super C, a Super V, or a Super P? Now if BCFS is truly a private enterprise are they paying to have displays such as this at BC tourism centres such as this one? The Mount Robson Centre is opened summer only and welcomes visitors to BC coming in from Alberta on the Yellowhead Route, which probably is the second busiest highway crossing from the east into BC (the TCH #1 route via Kicking Horse Pass being the busiest). PS: The Berg Lake trail is one of BC's best & a 'must do' backpacking trail. I have done it three times over the years, twice in summer, once in winter. Mt. Robson from the north (Berg Lake) side ... One might think that BC Ferries would make a better effort to sell their services to B.C. bound tourists! If that inflatable mess hanging from the ceiling is the best they can do, shame on BCF.

Name that 'dark' terminal ... This post rocks. And it also references a rebel pilot in Luke Skywalker's X-Wing squadron at the end of Episode IV.

Yes, 'Wedge Rock'. Even at night our forum regulars know their stuff!
How about some other terminals in the dark for ID'ing?

I have unfinished business from above, but first, have a go at this ... Your job is to name the vessel, the route, what it is we see in the background, & to take a stab at when this photo was taken.

Considering that your home surf is south of the 49th, you know your stuff. Had I have cropped this photo so that you could not see the letters 'NDS" I suspect you would have had a harder time. This photo (scanned from a slide) dates from August 1972.

Okay, today's challenge is to give me an exact date when this picture of a ship's mast was taken. Feel free to add other details if you wish ... This is from the Mr. DOT ( mrdot) negative collection.
