The banner will be a ferry (past or present) from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is that the vessel was in service (or on sea trials) when the picture was taken. Drawings will be allowed.
Unlike previous months, there will be no voting. Each submission will show up as the banner at one point or another.
The usual rules apply with one exception: One entry per person (I may change this to two/person depending on how things go).

Maybe we should make a rule for this flagship, limiting submissions to anywhere OUTSIDE of BC, Washington, or Alaska? It'll tauten the requirements a little, but it will also increase the number of really interesting submissions, like the previous two.

Perhaps our east coast members could give us something exotic from Sydney Harbour or Martha's Vineyard.

Hmm, we might be able to do that. I figure its about a 20 minute drive to the MA terminal in North Sydney, might make for a good break from studying.

Awh, Mike, you just had to break the far-away pattern! Nice submission, anyway.

Awh, Mike, you just had to break the far-away pattern! Nice submission, anyway. I don't have many "far-off" choices, and I considered something in Prince Rupert or Haida Gwaii. But I liked this one better. I stayed away from BCFerries and thought I'd go for the most remote (to me) of the 3 ferry-companies in this corner of the continent. - so considering that MV Columbia is rarely visible in daylight in BC south-coast waters, I thought it would be appropriately special. I agree with the sentiment to make this month's choices something unique. So this is the best that I could do.

I'm dittoing Mr. Horn a bit and keeping my submission on my home front. I do have photos taken by myself of New York ferries, but I'll use one of them at a later time. I'm doing something a bit different. Here's a photo taken of the new SALISH as she leaves Keystone Harbor on another trip to Port Townsend as seen from Fort Casey. i139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/ferrynutseattle/ferrynutseattle2/JFF2012.jpgTiming is everything. A deer was walking up to me on this trail while I was taking this photo. Very lucky this turned out as it did! While we do have a ferry in this photo, I thought it would be nice to add one of our four legged friends in the mix and make this interesting. Time to respect the wildlife.
