I'm interested in having a forum logo to celebrate the upcoming 100th birthday of Philip F. Spaulding.
I'm unskilled at this type of thing, but plenty of forum-members are very skilled at drawings and ideas. - So this is a call for some designs of a forum-logo that we could possibly use in the corner of our forum-header for Autumn-2012.
My idea is maybe something that has words and a signature shape. ie. - Phil's name - something like "100th birthday" or something to simply state the significance - A bit of Phil's signature style. ie. maybe a Coho-style bridge-wing shape, or something else that has his look.
Something that's not exclusive to BC or Washington or Alaska. The man's legacy is not constrained by geographic boundaries or by the Jones Act...
But please see what ideas you have and if you have the time, please try some designs and post them here.
Thanks.

My minimalistic submission... I wonder how that would look if those were real BCF "fire windows" ;D

My minimalistic submission... I like this design. It is common, I think, to all the 'tail ends' of the Coho, BC's nine single ended Spauldings, and Alaska's Blue Canoes. I would suggest, however, a frame around them resembling the typical stern profile of these vessels.

Just something to think about... I think it's a little too liney, but it's a different view of things. And of course, this is just a draft

Not too take away from anyone's ideas, and I'm not copying anyone, either, because I know this wasn't mine, but I usually use the Black Ball skin when I log on the forum, and the background colour combined with Scott's design to create this rather unique effect. Attachments:
