Scott, that new camera of yours is giving you pretty spectacular results on your twilight shots. Particularly in the shots you took at Horseshoe Bay; really nice balance between the light levels in the water and sky, and pretty decent detail in the dark areas. Very close approximation to what the eye would see. Worth the investment for someone who enjoys photography, and enjoyable for the viewer.

Coastal Celebration's 12:00pm sailing from Swartz, arriving at Tsawwassen's berth-4. - July 2, 2011. My vantage point is the berth-5 waiting-lounge sundeck: =================== Looks like she's coming in straight. Oops, starting to look like she's too close to the dolphin that separates berths 4 & 5. Trying to correct the angle of arrival. Thinking that I might witness a hard landing on the dolphin, I switch my camera to VIDEO: - VIDEO clip here: www.facebook.com/v/10150242643483647Still too close to the dolphin for comfort (at least from the view of my vantage point). After the possible danger has passed, she's in berth 4's alley. This was the day after the Queen of Nanaimo's hard landing in berth 3.

So that's why they harrass photographers at Tsawwassen...

So that's why they harrass photographers at Tsawwassen... The funny was, I had 2 security guys standing next to me on the berth-5 sundeck, while I was shooting the scene. - They were just the regular blue-shirted security guys, no dogs or supervisors. Or maybe they were just Route-1 passengers who happened to be wearing similar uniforms because they were traveling workers. Who knows, but I felt sneaky nonetheless. I am interested in hearing from our forum-experts on whether the C-Cel's approach from my pictures & video looks odd.

Some fairly generic pictures of the Celebration from July 6th: From gound level above, versus from the lounge, below. From the Alberni. With the Sobby-Cee.

Gap-toothed Cecil arrives at Tsawwassen's berth-4 on July 2, 2011 A look at the thing that looks like a rudder, but technically isn't really a rudder. In-berth view

Here is a photo I took last week during a trip on the Coastal Celebration. Looks like they're going to have to design more durable picnic benches.

I love the look of thiis ship as it transits through active pass. I can't wait for the day to come that I can take her across to the island. Soon, I hope... By the way, great pictures!

Coastal Celebration fired up for the 7:00am sailing this morning, with a dark looking Spirit of Vancouver Island beside her in Berth 3. I had forgotten how bright the Coastal are at Night with all over the deck lights turned on. This is quite a sight looking towards Swartz Bay at a distance even.

At TSA right now. C-Cel left on the 5pm sailing with a full load, 20 minutes late, operating as a single-ender. I'll be aboard the MD 6pm sailing aboard the Renny.
