6pm is the SOVI not the Renny!! Right you are, Karl. I was assuming, since at 5:45 the Renny was the only ship in berth. But alas, im aboard the Sovi as we speak. What confuses me though is why Cecil was running as a single ender.

19 November 2011 & the C-Cel is operating on route 2 today, based out of Departure Bay. It is replacing the Q-Coq, which had a little incident yesterday. The Q-Coq was replacing the Q-Cow, which is out for its annual refit. During the 'off-season' the Q-Cow replaces the C-Ren, which is the usual #1 route 2 Departure Bay based boat during the summer. Complicated, eh?
Questions:
1 - Is this the first time that the C-Cel has done revenue service on route 2?
2 - Is there any word on what went wrong with the Q-Coq yesterday?
3 - Where are repairs to the Q-Coq getting done?
4 - When will Q-Coq be back in service? Perhaps they will bring the Q-Cow back instead?
5 - Which berth was damaged and is that berth in service?

Under investigation. 3. Currently being done at Berth 1, Departure Bay. 4. Current plans have her back on Thursday, but that could be delayed depending on the repairs, investigation, sea-trials, etc... 5. This is not confirmed, but I would assume it was 3. I will find out tomorrow... (see post further down)
6. I am sure it would be closed, but then again, it might be open as a seating area only... I will find out when I sail on her tomorrow afternoon... (see post further down)

The Coquitlam damaged a wingwall while approaching Berth 2. 6. The Pacific Buffet is closed. As this has led to a lack of seating, Deck 5 is open to compensate. Also, she is sounding all three notes (chord) from both whistles. Not that awful high-pitched noise she usually emits on Route 1.

Here are a few photos to add to Scott's post from the trip today: I like the barely-there sun. Her bell. I don't really like the colour, compared to the shiny yellowy brass ones on the other ferries in the fleet. Do you think they just didn't brasso it this morning, or is it naturally like this? The SeaWest Lounge Damage caused by the Tsawwassen crews lifting the gangway before they retracted it. More photos are posted on my Facebook album, and a few photos and a video of a different nature are being posted in the Voyager board.

Do you think they just didn't brasso it this morning, or is it naturally like this? The bell has not been polished recently. A can of brasso and a rag (and a sore hand as a result) will unveil its true colour. Damage caused by the Tsawwassen crews lifting the gangway before they retracted it. That damage actually occured at Berth 2, Swartz Bay.

Why would the Celebration operate out of DPB instead of the Renaissance? I thought the Renaissance would go to DPB and the Celebration to Tsawwassen since the Celebration has the buffet for route 1.

The Renaissance has a buffet too, now. Not a full buffet, but the way I heard it, it'll be some sort of salad bar, or something along those lines. Somebody from the forum is going on a round trip on her soon, so he'll get photos of it.

Yes, i'm aware of the lite buffet. As shown in ferryfanyvr's photos, there's not much selection. I don't understand why the Nanaimo boat would be on route 1 when the Victoria boat is on route 2? For now, I think it's too bad that the Celebration's buffet is closed!

For now, I think it's too bad that the Celebration's buffet is closed! The reason is due to the SoVI being stored and ready to sail while tied up at Swartz Bay. Because of that, it was only a matter of that Route 1 crew switching to another vessel that was already on the terminal. As the Coquitlam's incident was completely unexpected, shifting vessels between three seperate terminals out of the blue is simply out of the question when a vessel is only required as a short-term replacement. In fact, the Coquitlam will return to service with the 3:00 PM sailing tomorrow afternoon.

In fact, the Coquitlam will return to service with the 3:00 PM sailing tomorrow afternoon. And regarding the C-Cel, is she heading straight back to route 1, or will she be waiting a little while? I know they're operating both Spirits this weekend, so that means one SC will be out of service. Will Renée or Celeste be sailing?

What time was that? I was on the 2pm from Tsawwassen. According to his camera's stats, it was taken at 4:32pm. It looks too light to be that late though, plus the Celly doesn't do the 3pm sailing, so I'm assuming he forgot to do the time change on his camera's clock, and it's actually 3:32pm in the photo.
