BC Ferries now classified Queen of New Westminster as V-Class vessel now. Can you cite where they did this?

BC Ferries now classified Queen of New Westminster as V-Class vessel now. It never was (IMHO) anything other than a 'V-class' vessel since the day it was launched almost 60 years ago.

The minor differences between the so-called V and B class were of interest mainly to ferry fans. The Vs weren't even united by having the same power plant, when built. The Bs could have been lifted in the same manner as the Vs if management had chosen.

Looks like the Queen of New Westminster is now moving into the refit. BC Ferries schedule only shows the spirits running tomorrow, as well as the Coastal Inspiration running once or twice. Will another ship fill in for the New West? Curious to know how that works.

Queen of New Westminster doesn’t see a replacement vessel because Sprint Class are main vessels and only secondary vessel out of Swartz Bay see service in off season.

Queen of New Westminster is now moving. Appears to be heading for active pass, not entirely sure about that though.

To simply keep all four of the Tsawwassen based route 30 crews trained to work on the New West to keep options available if there's a sudden ship shuffle

I didn’t know that vessels know when to breakdown, I am just joking around. Oh they totally do! Each major vessel has a "long weekend detector" built directly into the engine. 😂

I didn’t know that vessels know when to breakdown, I am just joking around. Right now, the weekends are when the slowest commercial vehicle demand occurs. So by running the New West on the statistically slowest weekends, they can do so with the least impact to service (less chance for overloads). During the week, it's not uncommon for the Coastal Inspiration to depart Tsawwassen at 10:45pm with an entirely full main vehicle deck of about 29/30 semi trucks onboard, with only about 20 cars parked on the upper vehicle deck. Same goes for the Duke Pt side at 10:45pm. Route 30 has outgrown the New West, and also the Alberni.

Wouldn’t BC Ferries not need to keep Coastal Renaissance on the other route until the vessel is fixed which could take more than weekend to repair, so basically needless swapping vessels again. Queen of New Westminster was replaced with the last round trip with Coastal Renaissance today which kinda takes away from the point of swap.

Queen of New Westminster now has blue line painted between lower and upper vehicle decks. It looks much worse now with the line not the same height all around, will they ever make it normal again or make the whole line the same height?

Queen of New Westminster now has blue line painted between lower and upper vehicle decks. I thought it always had a blue line? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean. Anyone got photos?

The blue line now goes all the way around, it used to stop at the upper car deck where the cars go but now the line has another blue line that is between the car deck openings on both ends but it is not the same height as the rest of the blue line
