Was the Queen of New Westminster having tie up problems at Swartz Bay today? I was on 10 am sailing from Tsawwassen and crew were having problems tying her up.

The New West would not normally be 'tied up' at Swartz Bay because she is based at Tsawwassen. Are you meaning that she was having trouble berthing in Swartz Bay at the end of her 10 AM sailing from Tsawwassen?
The BCFS website Departures & Arrivals page reports that she left Tsawwassen exactly at 10 AM and arrived at Swartz Bay 82 ! minutes later. No indication of any trouble ...

Ollie, your pictures capture the nautical beauty of that class of ship, the appearance only ruined slightly by that gapping upper car deck entrance. I know I am ancient, but when I think if BC Ferries I always imagine the Victoria class which your photos capture so well. Thanks for posting!

The stretched & lifted V's looked better before their noses were trimmed c1984. The trimming made berthing easier, but kind of marred the vessel's appearance, especially on the forward end.

I've always wondered, does the Queen of New Westminster ever sound the whistle when departing Swartz Bay? I've only heard the Spirit class sounding the whistle when departing Swartz Bay, and I've only heard the QoNW sounding the whistle when departing Tsawwassen.

I've only heard the Spirit class sounding the whistle when departing Swartz Bay, and I've only heard the QoNW sounding the whistle when departing Tsawwassen. I believe it is standard operating procedure with most or all of their vessels.
