When is the QoNW back in service? I can't wait to hear the new whistle! Even if it's not a new set of horns it will be nice to hear a properly tuned whistle. Early March, I think. The schedule says March 8. Should be back in time for the Christmas break?

What kind of refit in terms of scale would you guys consider this. I wonder how much life extension time shes got left. The 2009 refit added about 10 to 15 years of service planned for her (2024 is 15 years) so I wonder does this smaller scale refit add some more time for her since they probably wont retire her until at least 2029 at the earliest, right?

She needs to be kept around as long as possible! She's the last of the originals.

I agree and it would be a dream to see that become a reality, as of now we still got at least 5+ years left with her so we got some time and hopefully more than that but that is where things are for now.

Queen of New Westminster's return has been delayed to December 10. I am kinda of shocked that BC Ferries isn’t delaying the two week rest period for Queen of Alberni due only Spirit Classes vessels route 1 on Friday and Sunday.

Queen of New Westminster now has black on forward fence outside. The fence above the mouth or the new fence on the bridge?

Why is Queen of New Westminster's sailing tomorrow 2 hours long? Did they forget to change the time from the Salish Heron, or is it really that long??
Her scheduled arrival at Swartz is 6:35pm, but the scheduled departure from Swartz is 6:00pm...

RE: My first reply: The alert initially stated that the Heron would operate on the route thru December 11, so today's times can't accurately reflect that cause they didn't expect the NW back until tomorrow. They should be updated for the rest of the week.

The Queen of New Westminster is just arriving at Swartz Bay now from its 3:30 Tsawwassen departure. The sailing really did take 2 hours.

I just heard her new horn... it sounds awful... Do you have a video of it? I have 8 recordings that I will post later today. The pull cord soundings now sound horrible but it does use all 3 horns.

Queen of New Westminster arriving at Tsawwassen Berth 4, today.
Now here is what the new horns sound like:
I prefer how it sounded before they replaced the horns, even though it wasn't sounding all 3 of the horns. I hate that new high pitched horn that starts first! And the last sounding was so loud that my ears still hurt hours afterwards!
